Backgrounds are my thing of the moment. I’m loving them. And this is a particularly good technique of making interesting, DIY backgrounds. Take some bubble wrap, paint and and roll it (or stamp it) and do something amazing with your new background.
There’s something nice about a washer necklace. And these are so easy to make! However, at Papercut, we thought that the DIY washers would make some pretty cool layout embellishments too. Have you used them as embellishments before?

This week’s favourite layout comes from the lovely Jen Hall, who showed us all just what a mess scrapbooking can be when she spilled black ink all over her beautiful rainbow-coloured background. We all made a sadface. But being the amazing scrapbooker Jen is, she saved it and made a gorgeous layout in the process.
One of my favourite searches on Pinterest are paper flowers. There are so many different ways to do them and so many ideas for new ways to add them to our papercraft projects. This particular idea takes the normal book-paper flower and adds a bit of colour by inking the edges.
There’s nothing like a bit of colour to brighten up a room and here is a cheap and easy way to do it! Get a canvas, get some crayons, pull out your blow dryer and in no time at all you’ll have a gorgeous wall hanging that only cost time. (A little money, but probably too much.) An oldie, but a goodie. You’ve probably even done this with your kids. Draw a picture with a white crayon and then paint watercolours over the top. An amazing effect, yet so simple! (Original photo from Alisa Burke.)

We’re a DIY blog, and as such, we love making our own PL cards. Bonita showcases her PL cards, hand-made with ink and stencils on blank stock. (Check out her blog post here–we may have borrowed the image from it!) We also love the idea that you can jazz up the core kit cards by doing this.
